Transformation Youth – the Forerunner Generation

It's a great experience in attending this seminar organized by Harvest Evangelism and supported by various ministries and churches. Though I had a tough date by only finished teaching at 6:30pm in Tuen Mun, the 3-hours round trip to North Point was still worth it :

Date : Fri, 20 Oct 06 Time :7:00pm - 9:30pm (but it actually ended at 10:30pm) Organizer : Harvest Evangelism Venue : International Christian Assembly at North Point
Supporters :
- International Christian Assembly
- Embrace the Schools Movement
- Kingdom Warriors
- Shau Kei Wan Baptist Church
- Fuk Lam Church
- Bethesda Community Church (Hong Kong)
- Ladder Mission

I arrived ICA at around 8:15pm, shortly after the praise and worship services, I believe. When I got in the main hall, a young speaker with burning heart for Jesus was sharing his thought about Youth transformation. He is Daniel, 22, flying from Haiwaii who started Lord’s work on his campus. His dad, Pastor Cal Chimen is a leader in Transformation Hawaiian and was invited to come to Hong Kong for the seminars. While Daniel shared a lot about his works in Haiwaii, he passed along a very powerful message – Christians are the light in Lord’s kingdom. We have to go into the darkness – reach out for our campus. It may not be easy and at times may even be laughed by others. What we have to do is focus. Focus on Lord’s kingdom and his calling. Also, we have to “Finish well”. Remember Timothy who have fought a good fight, finished the course and have kept the faith? (2 Tim 4:7) Do we want to be able to answer in the same way when at one day, we were called upon by Lord and asked what we did on earth?

The following messages were so clear that the two generations have to work together closely. Auntie Barbara Chan called out the older generation to come out to the front of the stage. On behalf the whole group, she said how the older generation loves to embrace us and to see us developed in Lord. They might not be able to express it well in daily life and asked for our forgiveness. Subsequently quite a number of spiritual mothers and fathers showed their loves to the younger generation. It’s a moving scene to see the younger generation be hugged and prayed by their spiritual mothers and fathers. Guess this is the essence of the “trans-generational transformation”.

I thank Lord’s present through the whole meeting. My only struggle throughout the gathering was whether I belong to the last generation (which most of them are at 40s and have teenage kids) or the younger generation as students at high school or College.

Well, may be something in between these two generations made us as another type of serving agent?
