Who catpure our hearts? - Reflection after a youth pastors and workers prayer meeting

The things that Lord prepares for those who love him are "no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has conceived", I experienced this in the youth pastors and workers prayer meeting at The Chapel, YMCA on Fri, 16 March 2007.

The gathering was called upon by a group of youth pastors and spiritual leaders (郭詠儀、林惠萍、黃麗卿、冼嘉明、趙錦鈺、吳玉、張華倫、胡裕勇、楊亦田) who aspired to bring unity by prayers. This monthly prayer meeting started to open up for the youth workers since the last gathering. When I arrived the chapel, it was already crowded with more than 20-30 brothers and sisters and I could barely find a place to stand. People here all came for a reason -- pour out the hearts to worship and to pray.

This was my second day in a roll that Lord sent me message : Focus on Jesus. Put Jesus as your prime concern. People of this fast-moving society have too many things in mind -- we did lots of things but sadly without focus. Therefore whenever problems arise, we shift our mind immediately and influenced easily by the issues.

For a person who regard self-exploration vital, the hectic and ever-changing life experiences had made my ground shaken. My experience is always like this pattern -- before I could ponder more on a new encounter, the next one already pop up. It's like in a cinema, before you could have some reflective thoughts right at the end of the movie, the next one already on screen. Very often, things happened in life always make us lose our focus on Jesus. We did do lots of things, organize or participate functions but without Lord, this is all meaningless. Do you see the differences of passing a piece of paper to the passenger and sending good news about eternal life to a losing soul?

Jason Young's sharing served as great reminder for me. He told us that he met a girl and need to work out the relationship and then as a Jesus follower, he feasted and sought for God's will on the issue. Of course it is not too early in thinking about future wife at his late 20s, but he didn't forget to have Lord's will first. He wondered: he has a passion heart for people but how come he is not sure about this. Lord then spoke to him clearly : before asking whether she is the Ms Right, your heart has to be fully captured by me first and that's more important. He was moved and realized the importance of to be completely in Lord. I am sure this is not easy for lots of people who are dying to have a partner/lover/soul-mate. But we miss the main point when praying to Lord to get an answer -- it's not simply a yes or no answer but whether we are in him. Lord wants us to first be his bride so that our life be filled completely by him first.

Lord, open the heart of our eyes so that we can see your will on us. Let us be humble and be your disciplines but not fans. We don't know how to love you because we are in a generation with distorted conception of love. Make us to come back to you as we don't want to end up with love that is worldliness.

Lord, thank you for sending lots of great spiritual mothers/fathers/brothers/sisters who have faith in you like brother Jason Young and others. We are sure the words are not only for Jason but for every one of us who keep seeking love in a wrong direction. Lord, we love you and let us know how to love you. Thank you for giving us a chance in meeting brother and sisters in different ministries and in different generations. The most important of all, thank you for making us to get close to you whenever we pray. I am willing and ready, captivated my heart Lord, only to you Lord. Amen.
