Bring Knowledge, Help and Hope

“Bring knowledge, help and hope” MV Doulus is going to arrive Hong Kong after the Korea trip.

Known as the world’s oldest active ocean-faring passenger ship (Wikipedia), MV Doulus was built in 1914 and now also used as the floating bookstore. Received the information about MV Doulus’s visit in August from a colleague, didn’t really expect to be able to meet Director of OMHK in the Mid-Week Worship Service at the Chapel. Throughout the sharing of brother Lau, I could see how Lord is widening our horizons for the people in the world. Like Rick Warren mentioned in this book Purpose Drive Life, we should strive to be a world-class Christian instead of a worldly Christian. Put our focus on Lord’s kingdom instead of our personal needs. Lots of people still focus on their individual needs. Every time they pray, they only pray for supplies and blessings from Lord. Is Lord “created to feed my personal interests?”

I was moved when I heard that the 300 staff served in the ship are all volunteers who committed two years of their life there. Like brother Lau shared, it was truly an experience that far from the routine of getting paid by the end of every month and having annual leaves. However, joy and peace are all with the people who have God in their hearts.

Lord, thank you for using us in various ways.

p.s. Attended the Lingnan University Fellowship New Term Worship tonight. Good to see Sam again and of course lots of old and new faces. Particularly delighted in getting the chance to talk to a few freshmen (Janice, Candy, Irene, Man from Hall F, Chiu, Tung and Ted) about life in Christ.

Praise the Lord. I love you father Lord.
