United to pray

When the typhoon was sweeping over Hong Kong, a few LU Christian students gathered at my place and we chatted over the hot Tangyuan (glutinous rice dumpling) melting in our mouths. Other than enjoying the dessert, we shared our experiences and encounters, our hostel and Christian life ever since the term commenced. I shared that I feel so thankful in seeing what Lord has done in Lingnan after the Gateway Camp, they asked me the details. Oh yes, I always feel like the news was already widespread but true, good news needs to be shared all the times.
What are the good news? There are many. To name a few.
Like this one -- this is the first time the Chapalian's office work with the University Department in doing something. Praise the Lord for reminding us not only focus on the earthly things we have but also the best blessing in life. Also, it's great in seeing the spirit of Christianity be the core essence in the University 'activity'. Thank you Lord.

Group Prayer at the Chapel -- for the people in Sichuan
祈禱會 --重建四川計劃

Almost five months after the 512 earthquake, there is still a lot of work to be done to help quake survivors rebuild their livelihoods. Thanks to your great generosity, the University has raised $200,000 in May and the donation was sent to Sichuan via the Secretary for Home Affairs, Red Cross, World Vision and Oxfam.

In addition to the donation, the Chaplain's Office and SSC are co-organising a group prayer for Sichuan, hoping to gather our strengths to pray convey our best wishes for an early recovery to the people there, as well as to pray for the well-being of the volunteers all over the world who are at the forefront of relief and rehabilitation operations. At the meeting, our Sichuan students will share their feelings.
